IDX (Internet Data Exchange)

IDX (Internet Data Exchange) is a board-run program that lets members display each other's listings on their websites under the board's rules.

Some Canadian boards run their own IDX or reciprocity feeds alongside CREA DDF®. The rules on what can be shown, how often data must refresh and how the listing brokerage is credited are set by each board, so an IDX setup that's allowed in one market may not be allowed in another.

Many IDX products embed listings through a widget or iframe hosted by the vendor. That displays listings, but the pages usually belong to the vendor's domain as far as search engines are concerned.
